On April 17, Petitcodiac Regional School staff will take part in a Professional Learning Day focused on strengthening teaching practices that directly support student learning and well-being. Teachers will work together to improve literacy and numeracy instruction so students can read, write, communicate, and solve problems confidently at their grade level. Staff will participate in hands-on learning sessions about reading fluency, effective assessment practices in French Immersion, and engaging strategies that support learning across subject areas. Teams will also collaborate to ensure learning experiences are well aligned across grade levels and programs, helping students experience smooth transitions as they grow.

A strong focus of the day is student well-being, including strategies for emotional regulation, data-informed behaviour supports, and creating classrooms where students feel safe, cared for, and engaged. Educational Assistants will take part in targeted learning to further support students with diverse needs. Teachers will also explore how appropriate use of AI tools can enhance student engagement while helping manage teacher workload. Overall, this day supports our school’s commitment to student success by strengthening instruction, collaboration, and care for every learner.
