The following is a brief description of our planned professional learning work for January 16. This work is organized around our district’s four collective goals:

• All students shall read, write, and communicate at grade level in both languages of instruction.

• All students shall be at grade level in numeracy.

• All students and staff will feel safe, cared for, and engaged in learning.

• All students shall graduate from high school.

School staff will monitor the impact of their work from January 16, and on subsequent professional learning days, in achieving these goals.

Safe, Cared For, and Engaged:

• All school staff will participate in professional learning in trauma-assumed practices, which will help our staff create safer, more predictable environments where all students feel supported, regulated, and ready to learn.
• Our school will benefit from professional learning about school culture (mission, vision, values) because it helps staff build a shared understanding of expectations, values, and relationships that support a positive learning environment.
